WALK KILLARNEY & KERRY - 2008 PROGRAMME
Get your boots on and join the "K2K" and “K3K Munro” Clubs during 2008
The “K2K Badge” element of the 2007 Walk Killarney & Kerry Programme proved to be a big hit with participants and will be retained for 2008. Also as promised, when preparing the 2008 Walking Programme, the organisers have introduced a "K3K Badge" element. As the name suggests it will be based on reaching the summit of selected peaks in excess of 3000 feet. In Scotland this very popular activity is known as "Bagging the Munros" - so named after the mountaineer who identified and mapped all peaks in Scotland in excess of 3000 feet. There are only twelve Munros in Ireland and ten of those are in Kerry. Those successfully completing all of the Munros included in the Programme will be awarded with the sure to be much coveted “K3K” Badge.
“Midnight Culture Walks” are another new and interesting feature that has been added to the "2008 Walk Killarney & Kerry" Programme. Participants will enjoy a unique night of cultural experiences while walking through the beautiful Killarney Valley. History, Heritage, Music, Dance, Poetry, Drama, Storytelling and (weather permitting), witness the mid-summer sunrise before enjoying a hearty Irish Breakfast in one of our famed hostelries. Participating number will be strictly limited and details of Route, Content & Cost will be confirmed in due course on www.killarney.ie/walkkillarney
